Dexguard 480 EUR to 10313 EUR the worst software do not use

For my android apps I used Dexguard to secure the code. In 2014 I purchased the license for 480 EUR. Till 2015 everything was fine, now they are asking me 10313 EUR to renew the license. I am totally unhappy about this price. Even If I knew in 2016 that they will ask me this kind of monster price in future, I wouldn’t use their service from the beginning. Google should create something to secure android apps. No one should use dexguard so that they could not ask for this kind of monster price.

Alternatively you can use Dexprotector with cheaper price to protect android apps. Dexprotector doesn’t charge you for per app.

Totally agree to this. I was also raise from 400 to 6000. It is unethical and unfair. Now will have to waste time switching to different protector.

Exactly same happened to us. Use their tool only to get quoted some ridiculous renewal figure. Its a scam and a terrible way to do business. We have lost complete confidence in this vendors integrity. This is generally called extortion. App developers should avoid using DexGuard and be cautious to do business with GuardSquare

Same here. Our licensing costs went from 8000 to more than 70,000. They’re not willing no negotiate even with high-volume clients, so we’re moving to DashO. Good way to lose customers, GuardSquare! That sort of behaviour might work if you have a monopoloy, or even a clearly superior product, but there are other good obfuscation tools out there and it’s not difficult to migrate between them. If anyone’s considering paying for Dexguard, I would recommend you take this into account and shop around.

Everyone should boycott GuardSquare and their monopoly business style.
