Feed Dialog – Message field deprecated!!!

facebookI’ve an iOS application named Translator Free  where I have been using Facebook iOS library to share translated text as user’s facebook status. Some day ago I noticed that facebook deprecated the message field. They deprecated it in July 12, 2011 and I noticed it much later. I’m surprised for their decision.

What’s the problem if a person like to share pre-populated text as his status message. I don’t know why they took the decision!!

So if you need to update user’s status using facebook iOS SDK you can do the following way:

 

Instead of using the below code

[facebook dialog:@"feed"
	 andParams:params 
	 andDelegate:self];

Use the following solution

 [facebook requestWithGraphPath:@"me/feed"
        andParams:params
        andHttpMethod:@"POST"
        andDelegate:self];

    Sir,

    i have tried your code for connecting face book with my web site..but i want to redirect it after Login on some another Url.of my website…so please help me out in solving this..

    Hi Mr Mahmud

    may i ask about the Secure Canvas URL .
    I can make fb apps and it work perfect if the Options Secure browsing is Disabled

    But when the secure browsing is enabled it got error.

    How to fix that ?

    do i just go buy some shared hosting + buying Geotrust Rapid SSL . and
    upload all my file to there and it all done ?

    I don’t know anything about https.

      Hi. Mr Mahmud

      I tried your code and a Has the same problem ever:
      Invalid or no certificate authority found, using bundled information

      It seems that the app do not recoginize my fb_ca_chain_bundle.
      It need to be istalled or I just have to put this in my app directory?

      I need to run my app in a secure server have it working rightly?

      I can´t solve it!!!

    This is one of the best blog i found regarding facebook articles.
    Now i want to know whether it is possible to post or publish a private message to one of our friends through the fb api with or without logging into the facebook. It is a very urgent task for me and please help me in this issue.

    FB idiots are giving ‘ has been deemed abusive or is otherwise disallowed’ warning even for self status post through /me/feed or FRIEND_ID/feed php code

    Nearly 8 solutions posted on net declared working results in the same. I changed domains
    also incase particular domain is black-listed

    Graph is most UN-friendly API to developers

    People keep stumbling on this is (1) Not Allowed (2) Deprecated (3) Un-stable (4) Not Working Anymore
